Music personifies the life of William I. Brown, known by close friends and relations as Wril (pronounced “real”) Love. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Wril began his musical journey at a young age through frequent travels with his father, the late William (“Billy”) Brown, an accomplished church musician whom he also inherited his love and drive for music. This driving force gave rise to a vibrant and successful liturgical career spanning nearly two decades.

An advocate for musical excellence in church, Wril has served in music ministry as Praise Director and Worship Pastor for a number of churches across denominations as well as historic St. James Presbyterian Church of Greensboro, NC. There he pioneered the church’s first music conference comprising of national recording artist and producers such as VaShawn Mitchell, Maurice Fitzgerald, Calvin Rodgers, Rodney East and others.

In 2016, Wril founded GraceAndInspiration.com to offer a new creative perspective resonating beyond the typical church experience, market based ministry beyond the four walls. Grace & Inspiration’s live entertainment encompasses a variety of selections across the genre spectrum and bridges the gap between Gospel and R&B. Honoring Black History month 2017, G&I hosted “Taking It Back” featuring late legendary comedian and educator, Dr. Dick Gregory. “Taking It Back” showcased local vocalists, comedians and hip hop artists alike. It is this unification that inspires and empowers communities to express their divine potential.

Through the years, Wril has been noted as a creative visionary, activist, vocalist and songwriter. His love for everything music is expressed through the versatility of his God-given musical talents and skills. As a songwriter, he captures the emotions of a tune, bringing to each one a deep and overwhelming sense of love.  His repertoire is a true reflection of his adoration for the written word and his ability to bring a special essence to a song through his lyrics. The themes that dominate his life, singing and writing revolve around what Wril considers his fundamental faith, Love.
